Sculpture by Antonius Link
I Eat Attention stages a body polished into a flawless mirror—yet stripped down to an unsettling fragility. The figure’s emaciated silhouette evokes the obsessive pursuit of beauty as control: a discipline that promises mastery, while quietly consuming the self. Where nourishment should be physical, it becomes symbolic; where identity should be lived, it becomes performed. Inscribed like a confession—“I EAT ATTENTION”—the work reframes hunger as a social economy. The body is no longer fed by food, but by looking: by approval, by desire, by the silent measurement of worth. Chrome turns the sculpture into an arena of reflection, implicating the viewer in the cycle it critiques. You see yourself on the surface, and the question lands sharply: who is starving here—this figure, or the culture that taught it to crave validation more than sustenance?
